This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Port St Lucie, Florida area, at a company where effort is rewarded. In this role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Your responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request Requirements - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Efficient in ERP systems
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Paychex Payroll experience required
QuickBooks experience
Payroll experience
Cash Flow Forecasts experience preferred
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
