Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant with Audit experience in the non-profit industry, based in Portland, Maine. You will be expected to assist in audit, month-end, and review of financials for the upcoming year-end.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing and maintaining financial records and reports

• Assisting in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

• Coordinating month-end and year-end close processes

• Ensuring compliance with accounting and financial standards and regulations

• Utilizing Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions to streamline accounting functions

• Overseeing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations

• Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy of financial information

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant in the non-profit sector, with at least 7 years of relevant work experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Experience in Auditing and managing Budget Processes.

• Ability to develop and implement financial strategies and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is required.

• Strong understanding and adherence to ethical standards.
