Robert Half IT Security Specialist in Portland, Maine

Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an IT Security Specialist to work remotely. The role involves ensuring the security of our clients' infrastructure and responding to potential network attacks. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to maintain and enhance security standards and procedures.

*This team works an overnight shift.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and investigate security alerts, and report potential malicious activities to the appropriate parties

• Perform security and risk analyses to investigate breaches and identify their root causes

• Identify vulnerabilities and assess their potential impact on our networks

• Prepare reports to help leaders evaluate the effectiveness of security policies

• Advise on and implement necessary changes to counter potential attacks or improve security standards

• Operate and support security infrastructure with a focus on network security best practices

• Implement appropriate IT security procedures, configure security software, and carry out security administration functions across multiple platforms

• Collaborate with various departments to ensure customer service level agreements are met

• Provide escalated network and firewall support to customers

• Communicate with both internal and external contacts at a variety of structural levels to diagnose and resolve problems

Requirements • Demonstrated experience as an IT Security Specialist or similar role

• Proficiency in Access Control and Authentication

• Knowledge of EO/IR systems and Firewall Technologies

• Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance) principles

• Proven expertise in Cyber Security

• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) Tools

• Proficiency in using Splunk for managing security information

• Hands-on experience with Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

• Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and stakeholders

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ will be a plus

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
