We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Data Entry Clerk in the healthcare industry. This role is based in Portland, Maine, and will be integral to our team in a dynamic and supportive workplace. As a Medical Data Entry Clerk, you will be responsible for converting medical and billing records from paper to electronic format, managing backlogged medical records, and maintaining an organized documentation system. This role must work Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

• Convert paper-based medical and billing records to an electronic medical records (EMR) system

• Handle backlogged medical records and enter them into the system

• Employ strong computer skills to work independently within Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

• Assist in scanning, filing, and shredding of historical documents

• Maintain an organized and efficient document management system

• Oversee the filing and organization of paper documents

• Ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data entry tasks

• Resolve any issues or discrepancies in the medical records

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure all records are updated and accessible

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on the data.

Requirements

• Proficiency in data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and their usage.

• Experience in scanning documents and converting them into digital formats.

• Knowledge of filing systems, organizing documents in a structured manner for ease of access.

• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly, including shredding documents when required.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite..

• Proven ability to maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
