Robert Half Staff Accountant in Portland, Maine

Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Real Estate & Property industry, located in Portland, Maine. The role involves maintaining accurate accounting records and performing various tasks related to accruals, account reconciliations, and property management.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for review

• Execute month-end reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records

• Maintain property ledgers and manage financial transactions related to property management

• Identify and resolve any discrepancies in accounts receivable reports

• Assist with the preparation and execution of accruals

• Collaborate with a team of accountants to manage and maintain financial records for multiple properties

• Implement hands-on approach to manage related tasks and responsibilities

• Utilize skills in Accruals, Account Reconciliation, and Property Management to perform tasks efficiently and effectively. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Prior experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably within the Real Estate & Property industry

• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong understanding of Accruals and Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Property Management accounting is a significant advantage

• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Outstanding organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

• Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards in handling confidential information

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
