Description Accountemps is seeking an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk to join a team of highly skilled professionals in a stimulating work environment. The candidate in this position will be reporting to the Accounting Manager while attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The main responsibilities will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Portland, Oregon area and will be a short-term temporary position.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling

  • Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

  • Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Produce full-cycle A/P

  • Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

  • Manage customer service tasks for internal business partners

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Demonstrated communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • General familiarity with data entry

  • Foundational knowledge in DocuWare

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Office Products

  • Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS) experience required

  • Maintain Vendor Files experience highly desired

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • Well-founded grasp of reconciliations

  • Proven knowledge of Reconcile Vendor Statements
