Description

Peter Danielson with Robert Half is offering a unique opportunity for a Controller in the manufacturing industry, located in Portland, Oregon. This role is crucial to our operations, overseeing the financial review, maintaining inventory, and handling month-end close. The desired candidate is expected to have controller level experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong mindset towards process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the month-end close process within the manufacturing environment

• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform necessary adjustments

• Prepare and review financial statements and annual audited financial statements

• Ensure compliance with GAAP Accounting and US GAAP standards

• Manage cost accounting and manufacturing cost accounting processes

• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

• Foster an employee-first culture within the team

• Maintain constant communication with General Managers and Vice Presidents

• Continually assess the financial health of the company and make necessary adjustments

• Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines within the manufacturing industry.

Requirements • Must have a strong understanding of manufacturing and plant operations

• Proficient in GAAP accounting and US GAAP

• Experience in cost accounting and manufacturing cost accounting is essential

• Skilled in month-end close procedures

• Capable of preparing financial statements and annual audited financial statements

• Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred

• Prior experience in a similar role in the manufacturing industry is desirable

• Must have a strong commitment to ethical conduct.
