Jana Chapman with Robert Half Finance & Accounting, seeks an ambitious, determined Controller to join the team at a prominent manufacturing company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Assure client expectations are met by reviewing deliverables of self and team
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics Ax
Month end closings experience required
Financial reporting experience
Manufacturing experience desired
Excellent attention to detail
CPA or MBA preferred
