Robert Half Employee Relations Advisor in Portland, Oregon

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Advisor to join our client team based in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing consulting services to management and supervisors, developing proactive strategies that align with our mission and goals, and acting as a key member of our HR team. You will be pivotal in identifying and implementing strategies to meet employee needs, and in supporting the implementation of various system-wide programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with HR and management to provide targeted consulting, supporting the mission and goals of the department

  • Ability to navigate difficult conversations

  • Provide guidance and strategy for resolutions

  • Help leaders navigate employee issues

  • Strong and able to manage various complex levels of employee relations issues

  • Investigate problems, such as working conditions, corrective actions, grievances, and employee issues

  • Provide guidance and recommendations for problem resolution

  • Assist in developing proactive people strategies that align with departmental and organizational objectives

  • Act as a key member of the local HR team, collaborating with communities of expertise and management to identify employee needs

  • Assist in implementing strategies to support needs across the department

  • Support the implementation of various system-wide programs, including succession planning, performance management, talent development, and employee advocacy programs

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert in HR and related disciplines

  • Participate in management meetings, providing insights and recommendations on employee-related matters

  • Identify opportunities to improve team and departmental effectiveness and develop solutions in collaboration with communities of expertise

  • Consult with local management and supervisors on key departmental initiatives, goals, and objectives to identify people implications and requirements

  • Provide front-line direction, guidance, and support for local management on initiatives, workforce planning, employment needs, and onboarding strategies

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience: Required

  • Master's Degree with coursework in human resources: Preferred

  • Five years' technical human resources experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification: Preferred

on-site, full-time, Monday to Friday, with working hours between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
