Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Portland, Oregon

Description

We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Manager to support our client for a project-based engagement in Portland, Oregon. This role focuses on the development and retention of staff, ensuring job descriptions are accurate and updated, and implementing an effective performance appraisal process. This position also involves developing and managing compensation policies and requires the ability to communicate complex HR concepts in a way that is easy to understand.

Responsibilities:

• Review and update job descriptions regularly to ensure they are accurate and identify any gaps

• Develop and implement an effective performance appraisal process, including goal setting, mid-year check points, and end of year scoring

• Evaluate the current compensation policy and make necessary adjustments to ensure it is fair and competitive

• Communicate complex HR concepts in a way that is easy to understand for all staff members

• Work with culturally diverse organizations and non-profit entities

• Implement and manage a process for employee relations and performance management

• Conduct thorough compensation analysis to ensure fairness and competitiveness

• Utilize tech-savvy skills to operate in a hybrid environment

• Administer performance reviews and manage employee performance effectively

• Handle compensation administration and ensure all processes are in compliance with company policy.

Requirements • Proven experience in a managerial role within the Human Resources (HR) field

• Excellent knowledge of Compensation Administration and Compensation Analysis

• Strong expertise in Employee Relations and Performance Reviews

• Demonstrated ability in managing Employee Performance and implementing Employee Performance Management strategies

• Proficient in using HR management software and other related tools

• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Sound knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources or related field.
