Description

We are seeking a contract Payroll Director to join our client's team in Portland, Oregon. This role involves overseeing large scale payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity that will require managing payroll for a staff of approximately 3000 employees. this is a short-term contract opportunity, estimated to have a duration of 4 - 6 months.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage large scale payroll operations.

• Ensure efficient processing and accuracy of payroll transactions.

• Handle multi-pay cycle operations and manage payroll taxes through ADP.

• Oversee payroll operations for multi-state employees.

• Address and resolve payroll related inquiries promptly and effectively.

• Monitor and manage payroll, including different types.

• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with government regulations.

• Supervise a team involved in treasury, student billing, accounts receivable, and related functions.

• Ensure smooth transition and handover from the current Payroll Director.

Requirements

• Prior experience with Automated Payroll systems

• Expertise in Full Cycle Payroll is essential

• Knowledge of Multi-state Payroll is required

• Must have a strong understanding of Payroll Taxes

• Excellent communication and leadership skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Strong PC skills

• Strong work ethic and team player

• High degree of professionalism

• Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material

• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

• Ability to communicate with various levels of management

• Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills

• Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
