Description
Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team located in PORTLAND, Oregon. The role involves processing and maintaining payroll records for our staff, managing benefit invoices, responding to payroll inquiries, and supporting other financial functions as needed. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our financial department.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the processing of biweekly payroll for both salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now.
• Handle the timely coding of staff timesheets for lobbying and regulatory reporting.
• Manage the processing of benefit invoices for payment and the creation of benefit journal entries.
• Prepare monthly payroll and benefit journal entries for entry into our accounting system, currently NetSuite Accounting System.
• Make necessary corrections and updates to account coding.
• Address all staff payroll and ADP inquiries.
• Handle setup for new hires and enter benefit, salary, status changes and adjustments in ADP.
• Process final checks for terminated employees.
• Generate ADP reports for budgeting, grants, coding, and Human Resources as needed.
• Provide support to other finance functions as required.
• Track changes in benefit premium rates, 401K match dates, PTO balances, Parental Leave and Disability, and send related notices and reminders.
• Participate in the annual audit, workers’ compensation audit, and 401K audit alongside the Finance team.

Requirements • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now is required
• Must have strong skills in Excel
• Proficiency in Excel is necessary
• Familiarity with Excel Formulas is a must
• Experience with Benefits Payroll is required
• Must have experience in Full Cycle Payroll
• Knowledge of Multi-state Payroll is necessary
• Multistate Payroll experience is a plus
• Payroll expertise is required
• Experience with Payroll for 101 - 500 Employees is necessary
• Ability to Process Bi-weekly Payroll is a must
• Experience with Process Biweekly Payroll is required
