This is a great entry-level Pension Analyst position that provides the opportunity to offer daily support to the pension and benefit departments as well as solve routine/standard problems with limited discretion. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Correspondence and posting entries related to specific pensions and plans.
See participants in the office by appointment or drop in.
Determine funds needed on a monthly basis.
Analyze large amounts of data.
Communicate with Actuaries, Legal Counsel, Auditors, Trustees and Consultants in both verbal and written form.
Balance monthly pension reconciliations.
File monthly/quarterly/annual tax reports.
Become proficient on the Informix system which is used on all defined contribution plans.
One + year of relevant experience
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Acute attention to detail
Substantial computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, as well as databases and customer database systems
Can work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and social skills and able to converse effectively with legal counsel, actuaries, customers, etc.
Benefits analysis experience highly desired
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
Pension plans experience desired
Skills in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly desired (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
