Description

Six month contract position in Portland! We are inviting applications for the position of Sr. Procurement Consultant, based in Portland, Oregon. This role is centered around the strategic management of procurement and contract services within our client's organization. The successful candidate will be contributing to the enhancement of our operations and services, ensuring alignment with overall objectives. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the Procurement department, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency

• Drive strategic direction for procurement services, aligning with the organization's overall goals

• Ensure compliance with applicable procurement and contracting policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

• Respond to inquiries from internal departments and/or external agencies, providing timely and accurate information

• Resolve contract claims and disputes, ensuring a fair and balanced outcome

• Supervise a diverse team, including management, administrative professionals, paraprofessionals, technical/support staff

• Implement procurement strategies, optimizing processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness

• Monitor and manage contract administration, ensuring all terms are met and any issues are promptly addressed

• Demonstrate strong skills in government procurement and contract compliance, adhering to relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

• Must possess strong knowledge in compliance and contract administration

• Proven management skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively

• Must have the ability to develop and implement procurement strategies

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and improve procurement processes

• Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong supplier relationships

• Proficiency in the use of procurement software and other related tools

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with different stakeholders

• Must have a proactive approach towards identifying potential issues and providing solutions

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is required

• Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management will be an added advantage.
