Description
Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is currently seeking a Benefits Administrators for a client in the Portland, OR area. The Benefits Administrator will design and implement the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs. Common operations in this benefits administrator role will involve researching alternative benefits programs, implementing enhancements to current programs, and overseeing all general tasks associated with benefits administration. What you get to do every day
Ensure organization complies with applicable government regulations
Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration
Support administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes
Direct enrollments and determine employee eligibility
Create benefit appropriate programs such as insurance, wellness etc.
Manage relationships with all our service providers
Advise employees of their benefit options
Partner regularly with accounting department
Arrange leaves of absence and process claims or requests (medical operations, worker's compensation etc.)
Oversee daily benefits processing
Keep appraised of employee benefits plans and vendors

Requirements - Excellent communication and organization skills
3+ years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience
Hands-on experience with data analysis
Knowledge of benefits contract language, or willingness to learn
Competent in office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or similar relevant field
