Jamie Benway with Robert Half is seeking a diligent Tax Accountant for our steel manufacturing firm, located in Portland, Oregon. The successful candidate will join our corporate tax staff and be instrumental in managing and resolving various tax-related tasks. This role is crucial in maintaining our company's financial health and ensuring compliance with various tax laws.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate and individual tax returns to ensure accuracy
• Conduct detailed tax research and planning to minimize tax liabilities
• Coordinate with the senior tax director to develop effective tax strategies
• Prepare the annual income tax provision and ensure compliance with all tax regulations
• Manage tax audits and inquiries by providing necessary information and documentation
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax reports
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in tax law
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Provide tax advice and guidance to management on business decisions
• Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations.

Requirements • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Proven experience in Corporate Taxation, preferably in the Steel Manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in Annual Income Tax Provision
• Solid understanding of tax codes and laws
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification would be a plus
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
