Robert Half Accountant in Portland, Tennessee
Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in Portland, Tennessee. This role involves assisting with the overall corporate accounting functions essential to the accounting department. As a Staff Accountant, you will be expected to perform routine and ad-hoc accounting duties, manage accounts payable and receivable, and contribute to the preparation of reports analyzing specific aspects of corporate accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with the coordination and execution of overall corporate accounting functions
• Perform routine and ad-hoc accounting duties such as posting journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements
• Manage the accounts payable and receivable to ensure processing is accurate and timely
• Contribute to the preparation of reports analyzing specific aspects of corporate accounting functions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, and guiding management on necessary action plans
• Play an active role in the month end and year end closing process
• Create and implement effective methods to verify and maintain the integrity and accuracy of accounting data
• Identify inefficiencies in workflow and provide inspiring thoughts on system enhancements
• Use accounting software such as MS Dynamics 365 Business Central, MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, MS Great Plains Dynamics, MS Dynamics SL, MS Dynamics NAV, MS Dynamics CRM, MS Dynamics C5, MS Dynamics AX for various accounting tasks. Requirements • Must possess a basic understanding of Staff Accountant job function
• Open to applicants with 0+ years of experience in accounting or related fields
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is a must
• Proficiency in managing General Ledger and Journal Entries is required
• Capability to handle Month End Close activities
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 Business Central is desirable
• Familiarity with MS Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations is advantageous
• Knowledge of MS Great Plains Dynamics will be appreciated
• Proficiency in MS Dynamics SL, MS Dynamics NAV, MS Dynamics CRM, MS Dynamics C5, and MS Dynamics AX is beneficial
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
