Robert Half Controller in Portland, Tennessee
Description We are in the process of recruiting a Controller for our team based in Portland, Tennessee. The Controller will be a critical part of our team, managing our financial records, providing financial information, maintaining accounting controls, and overseeing the overall cash management of the company. This role is instrumental in driving business results through financial performance improvement and ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and parent requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze balance sheet and general ledger accounts to maintain financial records and interpret operating results
• Prepare reports and complete special projects to provide financial information and make actionable recommendations
• Set and follow accounting policies and procedures to maintain accounting controls
• Develop standard costs and maintain cost changes in the ERP system
• Oversee the overall monthly closing process, including reviewing and approving all journal entries and GL reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Manage the overall cash management of the company
• Work closely with internal and external auditors
• Train others as a super user in Epicor
• Review and approve all capital spending to assure conformity with long-range plans and prepare financial payback calculations. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar.
• Proficiency in IFRS Accounting is essential.
• Candidate should have experience with Journal Entries.
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures is required.
• Experience with Epicor software would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) is desirable.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are required.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required.
• CPA or similar certification would be beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary.
• Experience in managing budgets and financial forecasting is required.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and legislation is essential.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines is necessary.
