Robert Half International Financial Reporting Senior Accountant in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Robert Half has partnered with a client in the Seacoast area in search of a Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in public accounting, with some experience in either a private equity or public company environment preferred but not required. Candidates will be considered directly out of public accounting. The key focus of this position will be support of our external financial reporting and audit process. The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will be involved in technical accounting research and documentation in a complex environment and will support our Manager of Financial Reporting and Director of Accounting. This individual will be a strategic thinker, self-motivated with a proven ability to get into the details, multi-task and see areas to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with reviews of contracts and write accounting memos that support the company's accounting policies and the implementation of accounting standards.

  • Execute technical accounting research and documentation on merger and acquisition transactions.

  • Ability to navigate and interpret valuation calculations supporting asset valuation.

  • Applies technical accounting standards to complex accounting practices and transactions.

  • Identifies and documents accounting concerns and accounting change impacts.

  • Provides analysis and conclusions under US GAAP on queries and requests to support business needs and external audit requests.

  • Support the external financial statement process for standalone locations where required, and for consolidated financial statements

  • Take a key role in fulfillment of requests for annual audits and coordinate the preparation of working papers for the annual audit.

  • Manage financial reporting process for certain locations, including month-end and year-end closings

    Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in technical accounting and writing and preparation of financial statements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • CPA License

  • Strong organizational and time management skills and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects and tasks

  • Ability to work independently as well as contribute to a positive team environment

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Strong accounting system skills
