Robert Half International HR Generalist in Portsmouth, Virginia

Description

Requires experience in the day-to-day performance of HR (Human Resources) functions and the preparation and issuance of the weekly payroll. Requires a person who pays attention to details and is analytically driven. This individual needs to have strong empathy and interpersonal skills. Must have advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and familiarity with payroll and HR software.

 Process payroll

 Monthly/weekly payroll reports.

 Track COVID pay issues.

 Keep each employee’s payroll deductions up to date.

HR:

 Maintain employee records and personnel files.

 Maintain the 401K.

 Maintain each employee’s benefits package, educating them and implementing their requests.

 On board new employees, making sure hire packages are properly filed out and the employee understands their benefit package.

 Interface with ABS (benefits broker).

 Process open enrollment.

 Track and place workers compensation claims working with the Director of Compliance.

 Aid the Director of Compliance and the IT Department with training and tracking of training.

 Develop training programs for workforce development and make presentations.

 Conduct disciplinary actions as required.

 Update the employee manual and policies. Interfacing with appropriate Management to change the originals and that the policies meet the company’s needs.

 Make sure the company is compliant with all Federal/State regulations

 Aid Department Heads in placing ads and screening resumes as requested.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor Degree in HR or related field and the following experience:
