Robert Half Legal Assistant in Potomac, Maryland

Description

We are inviting applications for the role of a Legal Assistant, located in Montgomery County, Maryland. The professional will be an integral part of our legal team, providing support to one of our main shareholders, particularly in the litigation practice. This role involves a variety of tasks, including the handling of shareholder disputes, real estate disputes, and some aspects of family law.

Responsibilities

• Support the litigation practice by assisting in the drafting of pleadings and other legal documents.

• Maintain and ensure the accuracy of various legal documents and client records.

• Manage and coordinate meetings, ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions.

• Regularly communicate with clients, providing updates and information as needed.

• Utilize various software and platforms such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw for effective case management.

• Handle billing functions and calendar management efficiently.

• Play a crucial role in claim administration and client relations.

• Exhibit strong communication skills to effectively liaise between different parties involved in litigation cases.

• Apply knowledge and skills in litigation and law office management to ensure efficient operations.

• Perform e-filing duties, ensuring all legal documents are filed correctly and promptly.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role as a Legal Assistant.

• Experience with Case Management Software and CompuLaw.

• Ability to handle Billing Functions and Calendar Management effectively.

• Experience in Claim Administration and maintaining Client Relations.

• Excellent Communication skills.

• Knowledge and understanding of Litigation processes.

• Experience working in a Law Office.

• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
