Description

Company Overview:

Our client, a leading player in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist with SAP experience to join their finance team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely processing of receivables in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to transition to a permanent role in a fast-paced, team-oriented company that values efficiency, innovation, and operational excellence.

Position Overview:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will handle all aspects of the company’s accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment collections, and reconciliations, while leveraging SAP. Given the nature of the manufacturing industry, attention to detail, an understanding of product and service-based billing, and effective communication with both internal teams and external customers are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Invoicing & Billing:

  • Generate, review, and send customer invoices using SAP, ensuring accuracy in product pricing, quantities, terms, and shipping details specific to manufacturing contracts.

  • Work closely with sales and logistics teams to ensure smooth billing for large shipments, production orders, and custom projects.

Payment Collection:

  • Monitor customer accounts and proactively follow up on overdue invoices, ensuring timely payment.

  • Manage collections, resolve payment disputes, and handle customer inquiries regarding billing discrepancies.

  • Communicate effectively with manufacturing clients to resolve issues quickly and maintain strong business relationships.

Account Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile customer accounts and payments within SAP. Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including missed payments, short pays, or chargebacks related to shipping or production issues.

  • Prepare and maintain AR aging reports and support month-end close processes.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare regular reports on receivables, collections, and cash flow for the finance and management teams.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry-specific regulations, particularly as they pertain to manufacturing contracts and transactions.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience, ideally within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong proficiency in SAP is required, with specific experience in invoicing, collections, and account reconciliation.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting and proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) is required.

  • Experience with large-scale product-based billing and managing high-volume accounts is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to resolve disputes and maintain professional relationships with clients.

Work Environment:

This position is on-site at the company’s manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a high-energy, deadline-driven environment with cross-functional collaboration between finance, sales, and operations teams.
