Job Description:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Medical Billing Specialist to oversee our medical billing operations. This individual will be responsible for monitoring billing activities, ensuring accuracy in invoice preparation, submitting claims to insurance companies, and processing payments to healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
Review and verify patient billing information for accuracy in invoice preparation.
Submit medical claims to insurance companies and payers such as Medicare and Medicaid.
Manage account balances, handle collections, and resolve billing discrepancies.
Work with healthcare providers to explain coverage amounts and address any billing queries.
Maintain patient confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with the rest of the billing team to ensure that all invoices go out in a timely manner.
Implement audit procedures and ensure compliance to improve quality assurance.
Requirements
Requirements:
High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Medical Billing, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
At least two years of experience in medical billing or within the healthcare field.
Understanding of medical terminology and insurance practices.
Knowledgeable in ICD-10 codes, CPT and HCPCS codes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent data entry, numeric, typing, and computer navigational skills.
