Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Princeton, New Jersey

Description

We are in the process of recruiting an Accounts Receivable Clerk for our non-profit organization based in Princeton, New Jersey, United States. This role involves managing and maintaining our financial records, specifically focusing on cash receipts and reconciliations. You will be responsible for retrieving and recording cash receipts data, notifying the concerned departments, and handling any queries or issues that arise.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve bank reports daily to identify all cash receipts.

• Notify affected academic and administrative departments about the received payments.

• Apply payments to the appropriate departmental chart strings in a timely and accurate manner.

• Utilize the ERP system to record data for checks, wires, and ACH payments.

• Serve as a point of contact for the department, responding to inquiries and working with staff to address any reconciling deposit errors or problems.

• Scan and upload copies of bank reports, checks, and supporting documentation into OnBase for electronic storage.

• Maintain responsibility for filing confidential donor records safely and securely.

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action to collect delinquent payments.

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records.

Requirements

• Must possess at least 1 year of experience in the field of Accounts Receivable or similar roles

• Demonstrated ability to handle cash reconciliations

• Experience in managing daily cash receipts

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Must have a strong ethical framework and respect for confidentiality

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting is preferred

• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new processes and systems.
