Description
The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for knowing the core demographics and their needs, and ensuring that the communication is positioned to meet those needs. This includes developing messaging and content for a variety of channels that will increase awareness, engagement, and drive traffic to the company website. Additionally, this role is responsible for creating compelling creative copy and clearly articulating the company brand to increase membership, engagement, and product sales. This role is responsible for maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice, ensuring copy and graphics are consistent across all platforms and aligned with brand standards and product strategies. The primary responsibility of this role will be the creation and execution of company emails and social media management. As an integral member of the Communications team, this position will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
Job Responsibilities
Social Media & Email:
Create and schedule social media posts for company social media accounts
Grow social media channels by engaging with followers, industry leaders, and influential companies
Create and schedule emails to drive awareness and generate sales
Create social media and email graphics on Canva
Copywriting & Editing:
Write copy for social media, emails, website, author biographies, print collateral, ads, and other projects as needed
Copy editing and proofreading all marketing content
Copy edit content hub articles
Assist with formatting article text and exhibits according to company specifications
Project Management & Other:
Add digital content to company content hub weekly
Compile data social media and email data for monthly marketing reports
Assist with the creation of marketing campaigns
Collaborate on content creation, marketing campaigns, and marketing reporting
Inbound marketing - copy experience
Assist with project management of State Tax Law Guides
Assist with video and podcast editing as needed
Assist with tracking issue themes, articles, authors, and article categories in company database
Assist with preparing materials for building each issue
Requirements
Position Qualifications:
Bachelors in Communications, Marketing, or similar degree preferred
2+ years of professional-level experience in marketing, copywriting, and social media
Strong social media management/engagement skills
Ability to take direction and work independently
Skilled at proofreading and editing
Possess professionalism and good judgement on social media
Capable of working in a fast paced environment and able to keep up with deadlines
Ability to adjust language style to appeal to a variety of audiences
Provide a portfolio of digital and print writing samples
Proficient in MS Office; experience with SEO, email automation, social media, and digital platforms
Creative and can follow company branding guidelines to create social media and email banners using Canva
Considered a Plus:
Experience with Google Ads
Familiarity with marketing automation software
Video and audio production experience
