Robert Half Account Manager - Supply Chain/Purchasing in Providence, Rhode Island

Description We are seeking a Supply Chain Specialist in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. The role involves managing the supply chain operations in a telecom provider setting with a focus on product item assignment, purchase order management, and vendor relations. This role also involves customer service and requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

Responsibilities:

• Assign product item numbers/UPC’s and build standard costs for new items for various merchandising options such as Endcap features, Replenishment, Displays, Pallet Programs, PDQ/CDU programs, and Clip Strips.

• Create and track purchase orders in a Microsoft Dynamics database, maintaining detailed records for each order.

• Update ocean freight vessel tracking file and support inbound inventory tracking files at the Distribution Center (DC) levels.

• Manage daily communication with international offices to ensure the workflow for each program adheres to schedule.

• Execute customer-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)/Vendor Manuals across multiple departments to ensure all requirements are met during production and prior to shipping.

• Report on item/program status updates during bi-weekly production meetings with the product development team.

• Attend weekly Forecasting Meetings and issue required purchase orders to international vendors.

• Download and enter customer purchase orders into a Microsoft Dynamics database.

• Dispute compliance/shortage claims and follow up on required documents needed to submit disputes on their portal.

• Collaborate with all departments to ensure the successful execution of customer programs. Requirements • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent customer service skills

• Knowledge of EDI - Electronic Data Interchange

• Experience with purchase orders

• Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

• Strong understanding of supply chain processes and systems

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Detail-oriented and able to multitask

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
