Description
A national firm is seeking a Paralegal to join their Family Law team in Providence, Rhode Island. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting legal documents, managing case files, coordinating appointments, and maintaining strict confidentiality of legal documentation and correspondence. This opportunity offers a contract to permanent employment.
Responsibilities:
• Family Law experience required
• Handle the drafting of routine pleadings, motions, affidavits, subpoenas, and summonses with precision and accuracy.
• Efficiently manage logistics and correspondences related to scheduling appointments.
• Organize, store, and retrieve case files as necessary, ensuring the safekeeping of evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, and other items.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in managing legal documentation and correspondence.
• Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• File court documents diligently, respecting all deadlines.
• Provide efficient document management solutions through scanning, copying, and faxing legal documents.
• Respond to phone calls professionally, take accurate notes/messages, and redirect calls when necessary.
• Schedule court depositions, hearings, and other meetings promptly and efficiently.
• Facilitate administrative projects and meet deadlines, and provide timely reminders.
• Maintain records of billable hours spent on specific cases.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility.
Requirements • Proficiency in Briefing: Applicants should possess the ability to summarize complex legal concepts and cases effectively.
• Expertise in Calendar Management: Candidates should be adept at scheduling and managing meetings, court dates, and deadlines.
• Experience in Claim Administration: Applicants should have a background in handling claims, including assessing, processing, and managing them.
• Knowledge of Family Law: Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of family law, including divorce, child custody, and alimony.
• Mediation Skills: Applicants should have experience in mediating disputes and facilitating negotiations between parties.
• Document Management: Candidates should be skilled in organizing, storing, and retrieving legal documents efficiently and accurately.
