Description If you're an experienced accountant with a knack for accuracy, Robert Half has a terrific opportunity for you to check out. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. The majority of time spent in this position involves producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Providence, Rhode Island area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
What you get to do every day
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Partake in annual closing processes
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Accounts Payable (AP) experience
Vow to meet business deadlines
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
