Description
Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable manufacturing and services company. This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Key responsibilities
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

Requirements
Manufacturing / Service industry experience
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Prior work done in public accounting is desired
CPA or MBA preferred
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Foundational knowledge in general ledger
Project Cost experience
Process Improvement Initiatives experience highly desired
Adeptness in KPI Reporting
GAAP Accounting experience
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
