Robert Half HR Generalist in Queens, New York

Description We are welcoming an HR Generalist to join our team in Long Island City, New York. This role is set within a logistics company and offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. As an HR Generalist, you will be expected to handle a wide range of HR tasks, including but not limited to recruiting, onboarding, workers' compensation, supporting leadership development programs, and handling employee relations issues.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the recruitment process, including the onboarding of new personnel

• Handle workers' compensation issues, ensuring all matters are dealt with efficiently and within compliance

• Support leadership development programs to facilitate employee growth and company advancement

• Conduct investigations related to specific issues initiated from employees

• Track key information and reports pertaining to succession planning, turnover trends, and market compensation data

• Address and resolve employee relation issues promptly and professionally

• Use various HR tools such as ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ceridian, HRMS, About Time, and others to perform duties effectively

• Oversee benefits functions and compensation administration to ensure fairness and compliance

• Ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

• Foster positive employee relations and work to solve any employee issues that surface or are brought to your attention. Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar

• Proficiency in using ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode

• Experience with Ceridian and HRMS

• Knowledge of About Time software

• Ability to manage Benefit Functions

• Experience in Compensation Administration

• Understanding and experience in Compliance

• Strong skills in Employee Relations

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

• Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
