Description
In need of a Senior Accountant to join a forward-looking non-profit organization, Robert Half is searching for an individual that is eager, ambitious, and experienced. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with grant reporting as applicable, and related duties. Ideally, you will be able to establish and scale company accounting and finance operations. What you get to do every day
Command knowledge of Sage accounting software
Assemble a variety of technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses
Collaborate with FP& A and accounting management to deliver relevant and timely reporting of financial data analytics, including monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Provide regular review and analysis of balance sheets and income statement accounts owned by the Senior Accountant
Ensure close deadlines are met by encouraging and managing the accounting team performance during the closing process
Assist in the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience
Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable
Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset
Recent relevant financial experience
Solid technology and analytical abilities
Expertise in month end closings
General ledger experience desired
Deep understanding of grant accounting
