Description We are offering an opportunity for a diligent Financial Analyst in the government sector based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role will involve handling key responsibilities within the financial department, specifically in the area of credit and budget management. This offers a short term contract employment opportunity where the individual will be a crucial part of our team, contributing significantly to our financial strategy and decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing financial data and creating financial models for decision support

• Reporting on financial performance and preparing for regular leadership reviews

• Processing customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintaining accurate customer credit records

• Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate action to collect delinquent payments

• Conducting budgeting and forecasting processes

• Working on budget proposals and making necessary adjustments as needed

• Analyzing budget patterns, projects and making necessary recommendations

• Collaborating with team members to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients

• Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations. Requirements • Must have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.

• Prior experience in a government setting is highly desirable.

• Proficient in budgeting and budget processes.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

• Solid understanding of financial software applications.

• Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.

• Well informed about current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market, and business environments.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.

• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.

• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

• Professional certification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.

• Ability to strategize and solve problems.
