Major responsibilities
Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
Providing payroll information by answering questions and requests
Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential
Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data
Offer proper review and verification of source documents
Report changes where necessary after maintaining payroll operations via company policies and procedures
Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities
Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports
Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits
Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities
Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Mastery of internal controls
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Kronos Timekeeping System experience required
Proficiency in ADP Financial Services
Solid understanding of payroll
Prior experience working with collections/accounting software
Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Knowledgeable about federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
Certified Payroll detail oriented designation preferred
Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular
