Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Reading, Pennsylvania
Description Preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting are among the key responsibilities for this role. What you get to do every day
Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Supply Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Coordinate Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Engage in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
5+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Adeptness in Month-end Close Activities
General familiarity with journal entries
Solid understanding of SAP
Strong familiarity with US GAAP
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience
Experience with month end closings
Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Current and relevant ERP system experience
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Must have excellent time management skills
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
