Senior Accountant

Our client in the Reading, PA area is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Maintain general ledger integrity, ensuring proper classification of transactions.

  • Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  • Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.

    Requirements

Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.

  • Proficiency in accounting software ([e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite]) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
