Senior Accountant
Our client in the Reading, PA area is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract role. As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
Responsibilities of Senior Accountant
Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Maintain general ledger integrity, ensuring proper classification of transactions.
Reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications of Senior Accountant
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software ([e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite]) and advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
