Description

A leading CPA firm is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team in Redwood City! Position Overview:

As a Staff Accountant, you will assist with a variety of accounting functions, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger maintenance. You will work closely with senior accountants and management to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Perform account reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet, and income statement accounts.

  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

  • Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

  • Prepare journal entries and assist with the review of expense reports.

  • Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing necessary documentation.

  • Support the tax preparation process, including gathering data and preparing reports for tax filings.

  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

  • Help implement and improve internal controls and accounting processes.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

  • 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance (internship experience may be considered).

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • CPA eligibility or in progress (preferred, but not required).
