Position Overview:
The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and providing tax planning support to clients. You will work closely with other team members to prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax filings while identifying opportunities for tax savings and compliance optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file individual, corporate, & partnership in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Research tax laws and regulations to ensure accuracy and compliance in all filings.
Assist in tax planning and provide clients with proactive strategies for minimizing tax liabilities.
Prepare quarterly estimates, extensions, and year-end tax projections for clients.
Maintain and update clients’ tax records, including filing deadlines and other regulatory requirements.
Analyze and reconcile financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in reporting.
Communicate with clients regarding tax issues, notices, and compliance matters.
Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure all tax-related matters are addressed promptly and accurately.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
1–3 years of experience in tax preparation, ideally with a focus on individual, corporate, or partnership taxes.
Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels.
Experience with tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem FX, or similar) and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work with clients and team members.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
