Description
Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half has an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the Agriculture industry based in Reedley, California. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial activities, including reviewing cash balances, updating enterprise software, approving A/P items, and handling Workers Comp and company cell phones among other duties.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and review cash balances regularly, making banking transfers as necessary.
• Check email and voicemail messages regularly for any action items that need immediate attention.
• Maintain and update enterprise software, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly.
• Review and approve Accounts Payable items, ensuring all financial records are accurate.
• Manage company technology equipment, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and functioning properly.
• Serve as the first point of contact for injured employees for Workers Compensation matters.
• Handle company cell phone matters, including ordering new phones as needed.
• Apply General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) when necessary.
• Oversee month-end close and preparation of financial statements.
• Handle any Accounts Receivable (AR) related tasks as needed.
This role requires skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Month End Close, General Ledger, and Fin
Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an agricultural Controller role or similar position
• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in executing Month End Close processes
• Solid understanding of managing General Ledger
• Ability to prepare Financial Statements
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of agricultural industry standards and regulations
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
