Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Reno, Nevada

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill an Accounts Receivable Specialist role for a growing Reno based company. The person in this role will be responsible for:

• Receive, process and post cash receipts from customers.

• Prepare reports on cash receipts and customer activities.

• Process, Post and review customer billings.

• Prepare reports on customer billings and related items.

• Review, track and verify daily cash transactions.

• Identify and investigate discrepancies, problems and issues.

• Cross train on other accounting employees’ activities, duties and functions.

• Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by management.

• Prepare spreadsheets using Excel and other software programs as needed.

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers, vendors and other employees.

• Identify and resolve issues with customers, vendors and other employees.

• Assist with the preparation and filing of reports, invoices, receipts and other documents.

• Assist in basic activities related to Department budgets.

To be considered for the role, candidates should have at least 3 years of full cycle accounts receivable experience and ideally some college education. Strong MS Excel skills and experience working in accounting software is a must.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks

• Demonstrated skills in account reconciliation and accounts receivable (AR)

• Experience in billing procedures and cash applications

• Proficiency in cash collections and commercial collections

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Familiarity with accounting software and databases

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet deadlines

• Ethical conduct and high level of integrity.
