Description
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist with recent ADP experience to join our client here in Reno, NV. The chosen candidate will be primarily responsible for all the payroll-related tasks, ensuring that salaries and benefits are accurately distributed to all employees on time. A successful person in this role will have extensive knowledge of payroll systems, particularly ADP, and the legal requirements for payroll management.
Responsibilities:
Process payroll accurately and ensure timely disbursement using the ADP system.
Review and verify employees' worked hours and pay changes, overtime, benefits, deductions, etc.
Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave, for employees.
Resolve any payroll discrepancies or errors promptly.
Prepare payroll reports for management as needed.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Maintain and update payroll records.
Liaise with other departments or providers to ensure proper payroll processing.
Address and respond to employee queries regarding pay and benefits.
Requirements
Previous experience working as a payroll specialist or similar role with a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on, recent experience with ADP payroll systems.
Strong numeracy and organizational skills.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of wage deductions, tax calculations, and labor legislation.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Good understanding of multi-state payroll and tax procedures.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team and resolve staff queries.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
