Robert Half Senior Accountant in Reno, Nevada

Description Robert Half is seeking a Senior Accountant for a long-term contract/temporary position for a client in South Reno. As a Senior Accountant in the manufacturing industry, your role will focus on lease accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes. You will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated accounting detail oriented to apply their expertise in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities: Oversee the lease accounting function, including the accurate recording and classification of leases in compliance with accounting guidelines Perform monthly lease reconciliations, ensuring accurate and complete records of lease obligations, payments, and related expenses. Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather lease-related data and ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on evolving accounting regulations and pronouncements, particularly related to lease accounting, and ensure compliance. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or significant progress towards obtaining CPA certification preferred.. Strong knowledge of lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842) and experience with lease administration systems. Proficiency in month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
