Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting permanent placement is recruiting to fill a Trust Accountant role with a family office

trust company in Nevada. The Trust Accountant is responsible for all fiduciary and general accounting activities for trusts of which the Company is acting as trustee. The Trust Accountant will assist in reviewing the trust books and records for accuracy, which includes preparing general ledger entries for over 200 trusts. The Trust Accountant will prepare trust accounting that comply with the trust documents and applicable state laws. The Trust Accountant will also assist in preparing periodic financial statements for trusts and in managing cash flow for the trusts of which the Company is acting as trustee. The Trust Accountant will deal with highly sensitive and confidential information. Absolute discretion and confidentiality are required.

1. Review and prepare general ledger accounting entries for trusts of which the Company is acting as trustee.

2. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reporting, including budgeting and cash management for trusts of which the Company is acting as trustee.

3. Review and reconcile trust bank and investment account reports monthly.

4. Compile and prepare annual trust accountings in accordance with the terms of the trust documents and applicable state laws.

5. Collaborate with other colleagues and service providers, including the affiliated family office, as needed for the timely preparation of trust income tax returns and to ensure accurate books and records.

6. Work closely with the Vice President of Finance, Tax and Accounting of the IFO Group, LLC and the Trust Officer in maintaining accounting records and trust administration files.

7. Assist with special requests or projects as requested.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

2. 1-3 years of accounting experience.

3. Experience with fiduciary and entity accounting ideally.

4. Evidence of flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and ability to multi-task.

5. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, database, internet, and applicable financial and tax software (i.e.: CCH and BNA, Sage Intacct, QuickBooks and ProSystem FX).

6. Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

7. Must be highly confidential and display strong judgment. Experience handling sensitive and/or confidential financial information and maintaining ongoing confidentiality.
