Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Renton, Washington. The primary industry of this role is within a healthcare company, where the successful applicant will be tasked with key responsibilities related to account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and other related duties.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily cash reconciliations to achieve a zero balance and identify any emerging issues as a priority.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to rectify discrepancies found in key categories.
• Prepare and execute necessary journal entries, while investigating and rectifying underlying issues promptly.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and project-specific reconciliations.
• Investigate and rectify issues with accounts that cannot undergo proper reconciliation procedures.
• Identify and highlight missing fees, propose corrective entries, and ensure approval is obtained prior to making them.
• Conduct cleanup tasks to ensure data accuracy and trustworthiness.
• Work to deduce the "true unidentified number" by identifying and highlighting any missing, misclassified, or unassigned amounts.
• Explore ways to automate the reconciliation processes to boost efficiency and accuracy.
• Continuously improve and automate workflow processes by updating outdated templates and establishing new procedures.
• Document processes comprehensively for reference, compliance, and auditing purposes, with an emphasis on improving and automating these processes.
You will be operating with a variety of skills including Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Financial Edge.
Requirements • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential or actively working towards it
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, and Financial Edge
• Demonstrated ability to perform account, balance sheet and bank reconciliations
• Strong understanding and experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
• Proficient in preparing and posting journal entries
• Able to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential environment
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Knowledge of current financial regulations
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
