Robert Half Staff Accountant in Renton, Washington

Description There is an opportunity for a full-time Staff Accountant with a terrific company. To succeed in this role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. To be preferred for this position, you will need to have a complex understanding Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

What you get to do every single day

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives

  • Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • ERP system experience

  • Proven knowledge of Enter Invoices

  • Good understanding of Grant Management

  • Quality experience with Annual Reports

  • Deep understanding of general ledger

  • Earlier work involving budget management

  • Foundational knowledge in Sage 100

  • Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

  • General familiarity with Check Runs

  • Well-founded grasp of Code Invoices

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired

  • Wide ranging experience with Prepare Tax Returns

  • Previous experience working with grant accounting

  • Command of reconciliations

  • Practical knowledge of Federal Government Reporting

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Strong attention to detail
