Description
Robert Half is currently recruiting for a knowledgeable Staff Accountant for a contract position within a non-profit organization situated in Renton, WA. The primary duty of the staff accountant will include preparing financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
Assists in developing and implementing accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2-3 years of experience in accounting or related field.
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports.
Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
