Sr. Payroll Processor in Reston, Virginia

We are currently partnered with a large financial loan services organization with their Shared Services office to identify the next Sr. Payroll Administrator to join their bustling team! The Sr. Payroll Processor we are currently seeking will be assisting a team of payroll accountants and benefits professionals in the full-cycle processing and reconciliations of payroll to over 8000 employees nationwide. As a very valuable seat within the team, the Payroll Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely production of payroll for employees across all 50 states. Major responsibilities

  • Lend a hand to staff with pay related issues, general questions related to payroll, PTO accruals, wage deductions, and fringe benefits

  • Confirm timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles

  • Abide with current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting

  • Direct quarterly and year-end payroll reports

  • Administer voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities

  • Assess data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave

  • Lead regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger

  • Review payroll areas, fringe benefit reporting, and pay practices related to FLSA to determine how those practices apply to advise management

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll experience

  • Full Cycle Payroll experience

  • Multistate Payroll experience preferred

  • General familiarity with payroll for over 500 employees

    • Background in garnishments, various withholdings, and processing liens would be very valuable

    • Essential to have experience working with an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets

  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred

  • Workday Payroll experience desired

    • CPP or FPC desired, any additional education welcomed
