Those who can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively will thrive in this position. The Controller position is a short-term temporary engagement located in Richmond, California. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a very dynamic and high profile area with significant visibility at executive management level.
Major responsibilities
Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs
Evaluate and observe controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance
Reach understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Continuous review of actual spend against budget and lead necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls
Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Support SOX controls through the collation of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs
Recognize key financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners
Ensure timely cash flow forecasts by collaboration with the Treasury
Requirements
Prior background in engaging virtually with teams around the globe and providing leadership across finance teams
Knowledge of ERP system preferred
Aptitude for communication and negotiation, building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
Solid understanding of month end closings
Exemplary knowledge in office and accounting computer systems
Implement and improve changes in procedures immediately
10+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
- CPA and/or CMA preferred
