Robert Half Staff Accountant in RICHMOND, California

To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities

  • Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Check Runs experience

  • Well-founded grasp of Form 1099

  • Collection Processes experience preferred

  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping

  • Experience with Approved Invoices

  • Manage Vendor Relationships experience desired

  • Deep understanding of Check Runs

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
