Description We are offering an opportunity to join our team in Richmond, Virginia, as an Accounting Clerk. The role involves maintaining and documenting effective internal controls and processes, identifying accounting system issues, supporting auditors, reviewing and analyzing relevant accounting source documents, and assisting with the preparation of standard internal and external financial reports. This role offers a contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintaining and documenting effective internal controls and processes

• Work with the team to identify accounting system issues

• Support internal and external auditors related specifically to the job function

• Assist with reviewing and analyzing relevant accounting source documents

• Assist with the preparation of standard internal and external financial reports

• Assist with reviewing and analyzing company directives to guide and make recommendations regarding accounting policies and practices

• Apply accounting principles to daily work functions

• Perform clerical duties related to accounting

• Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date

• Maintain the security of financial information. Requirements • Familiarity with accounting principles is required

• Proven experience in executing clerical duties

• Proficiency in preparing external financial reports

• Ability to manage internal control and implement directives

• Experience in dealing with suppliers and handling credit approvals

• Skilled in performing various accounting functions

• Competency in maintaining documentation and records

• Knowledge of security practices within the accounting context

• Experience in conducting external audits

• Ability to adhere to and enforce company practices.
