Robert Half Accounting Manager in Richmond, Virginia
Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in the finance industry, located in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage capital outlay, analyze data, prepare accounting entries, and make sound business decisions. You will work independently and with minimal supervision, interpreting administrative policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Manage Capital Outlay ensuring all expenditures are accounted for accurately
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations
• Prepare accounting entries, ensuring they align with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Work independently on multiple assignments, effectively managing time and resources
• Interpret administrative policies and procedures, applying them appropriately in day-to-day work
• Exercise independent judgment in making sound business decisions
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders
• Utilize complex automated accounting systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Cardinal, or other Oracle-based accounting systems
• Utilize Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to perform tasks and present information
• Provide excellent customer service, resolving customer inquiries and managing customer accounts effectively. Requirements • Must hold a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role or in the field of accounting
• Proficiency in Concur is essential
• Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a requirement
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Prior experience in Auditing is a must
• Ability to conduct Billing Functions efficiently
• Knowledge of Capital Assets and Capital Management is required
• Experience in Grant Accounting is a plus
• Skilled in Financial Reporting
• Proficiency in using Oracle is essential
